  1. UMTS Forum

UMTS Forum is an open cross sector and independent organization founded on 16 December 1996 in Z rich , Switzerland , as a non profit association under Swiss law with the aim to enhance the modular 3G UMTS concept, which takes full regard of the trend of convergence of existing and future information networks, devices and services, and the potential synergies that can be derived from such convergence. Following successful global implementation of UMTS , focus changed to upgrades and evolution of UMTS . Currently mobile operators are implementing HSPA High Speed Packet Access , which will be followed by LTE Long Term Evolution . This change is also reflected in activities of UMTS Forum. UMTS Forum is very active in different standardization and regulation organizations like ITU , ETSI 3GPP , EC and CEPT European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations . 1. Coiler

For the Tesla coil hobbyist see that article Coiler Corporation is a telecommunications company located in Taipei , Taiwan . History When Coiler Corporation was first founded in 1991, its focus was mainly on manufacturing electronic engine equipment. In 1994 it started to diversify and began its RF division where the company s portfolio included GSM and DCS gain adjustable repeaters, AMPS small repeaters and single band car boosters . In 1999 the company developed a medium sized band selective repeater and later added a dual band car booster. Further developments resulted in the company to design small sized band selective repeaters, 5 watt band selective repeaters and dual band selective repeaters. With the increase in popularity of the UMTS technology, in 2005 Coiler introduced their first UMTS repeater and is currently expanding their UMTS repeater portfolio as the demand for UMTS related products are quickly on the rise. Related products and accessories such as antennas and splitters have continuously been added to the company s portfolio for the deployment of wireless networks. For network operators, Coiler developed an Operation and Maintenance System, which allows them to monitor and control some of their repeaters remotely. Overview Coiler s portfolio of band selective mini and pico repeaters have been developed for use in GSM , DCS and UMTS networks. Their customer base includes network operators, infrastructure suppliers, system providers and integrators from across the globe. Coiler repeaters have been internationally recognized and certified by a number of telecom authorities, including the European ETSI , the American Federal Communications Commission FCC and Industry Canada .
