    Tannochside is an area of Uddingston and is located approximately convert 8 mi south east of Glasgow , Scotland , UK . Although considered part of Uddingston, it lies within a separate local authority area. Tannochside is contained within the boundaries of North Lanarkshire council whereas the original village of Uddingston is in South Lanarkshire . Tannochside is located in between the Birkenshaw, North Lanarkshire Birkenshaw and Viewpark areas of Uddingston. Tannochside is part of the Greater Glasgow conurbation. It is often debated as to where the borders lie between Tannochside and other nearby areas of Uddingston such as Viewpark and Birkenshaw. One suggested border is Aitkenhead Road, a main road which splits housing areas adjacent to Scotmid and a local water tower. Between Bothwell Bridge and Strathclyde Country Park the route runs on the upgraded footway of Bothwell Road in Hamilton.     Unreferenced date June 2011 Jimmy Johnstone Lord of the Wing is a 2004 documentary narrated by Scotland Scottish comedian Billy Connolly , on the career of Jimmy Johnstone Jimmy Jinky Johnstone , a Celtic F.C. Celtic FC and Scottish Football soccer footballer in the 1960s and 70s and voted Celtic s greatest ever player by the fans of the club. The Lord of the Wing Johnstone is so well loved by Celtic fans that two memorial bronze statue tributes to the legendary player have been erected in his honour, one outside Celtic Parkhead stadium and the other in the year 2011 in a memorial garden of remembrance on a site at his former school close to his home, where he grew up on the Uddingston Old Edinburgh Road, Viewpark, Uddingston . The garden was opened by Jimmy Johnstone s wife, family and some of the surviving members of the Lisbon Lions Lisbon Lions team. The bronze life size statue created by sculptor John McKenna sculptor John McKenna from Ayrshire was paid for by money raised by the Jimmy Jinky Johnstone memorial statue fund and the memorial garden from kind donations from the public and the business world. Viewpark is adjacent to Tannochside , and is convert 2 km west of Bellshill . Viewpark is often considered a district of Uddingston despite falling under the jurisdiction of a separate local authority. Viewpark was originally built to house miners and was erected quickly When date February 2011 . The older houses were originally called the Electric scheme . Viewpark then grew steadily to support housing demand in the area which was thriving with Industry at the time with companies such as the Mining and the Caterpillar Tractor Co opening its doors in 1959 creating a boom in the population of the area which is known as Viewpark today. 1956 and the main thoroughfare in Viewpark, Laburnum Road, often referred to as The Burma Road , in reference to its length, was well underway in its construction. That same year, the local council set up what has now become http www.sites.google.com site burnheadbowlingclub home Burnhead Bowling Club , along with an adjacent tennis court. A new church was built, Burnhead Parish Church, on Laburnum Road, opposite its junction with Burnhead Street. The demolition of the miners homes, referred to as The Miners Rows, in Tannochside, which released land for the erection of the Caterpillar Tractor Co. led to an influx of displaced families into the Viewpark area. However, no one was complaining, gone was the hole in the wall bed , and in its place, a brand new home, with separate bedrooms, kitchen areas, and indoor bathing and toilet facilities.
