The International Institute of HumanRights French language French Institut international des droits de l homme, IIDH is an association under French local law based in Strasbourg , France . It is composed of approximately 300 members individual and collective worldwide, including universities, researchers and practitioners of humanrights . The IIDH was founded by Ren Cassin who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1968. Ren Cassin donated the prize money for the creation of an international institute of humanrights in Strasbourg. The Canadian HumanRights Tribunal is an administrative tribunal established in 1977 by the Canadian HumanRights Act . It is directly funded by the Parliament of Canada and is independent of the Canadian HumanRights Commission which refers cases to it for adjudication under the Act.
