Ado or Ato died 695 was the Duke of Friuli after the usurper Ansfrid of Friuli Ausfrid was defeated at Verona in 694. According to Paul the Deacon , he was a brother of the former duke Rodoald of Friuli Rodoald and ruled for a year and seven months. The actual length of his reign is disputed, as is the year of its occurrence. He appears with the title loci servator caretaker and may have only held the duchy as regent on behalf of the king. It is situated in the northern part of the state were the routes from Oyo State Oyo , Osun State Osun and Kwara State Kwara states respectively converge. Ido Ekiti is the headquarter of Ido Osi local council. It is bounded in the east by Ipere and Iludun , in the south by Igbole and Ifinsin axis and in the north and northwest by Usi and Ilogbo Ekiti . In the pre local government reforms in Nigeria in 1876, Ido district was made up of ten town and villages with Olojudo as the paramount ruler Ido Mewa meaning a country with ten settlements emerged from the aforementioned sole authority of Olojudo. In the beginning six potential hunters left Ile Ife for Ido Ekiti about the middle of fifteen century. These hunters were bold and courageous. Oral traditions did not reveal their initial names rather one of them was made their leader. The head of the five hunters was later christened as Odemorun. It could now be inferred the Odemorun was the founder of Ido after proper settlement and interaction with small villages. The settlement was organized by the violent incursion of Ikere people against Ido. The letter was attack, defeated and was captured almost half of the people s population. It was interesting to note that one Olupetu who attempted to attack Ikere because of his supernatural power but met his waterloo as result of Ikere s sophisticated weapons. It is one of the 9 local government areas in the southern senatorial zone which is mainly occupied primarily by the Idoma people of Benue State. The administrative headquarters are at Igumale, situated on the railway line transversing the north south of Nigeria. The area contains mineral and natural resources in commercial quantities such as limestone, koalin, petroleum and coal. It is a culturally rich and diverse area comprising the Agila Apa, Ulayi, Ijigbam, Utonkon and Igumale communities. It was one of the first areas in Idoma to have contact with European missionaries, hence it had the first missionary school in the Idoma area.
