The University of Hawaii Rainbow Warrior Marching Band is a marching band for the University of Hawaii at Manoa . History The first band at the University of Hawaii at Manoa was established in 1923. The only university marching band in the state of Hawaii and the biggest student organization on campus performs pregame and halftime at all the Hawaii Warriors football home games at Aloha Stadium , including bowl games, as well as pep band at home games for basketball and volleyball. General information The UH marching band consists of over 250 members. Under the direction of David M. Blon, it is considered a one credit graded course at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Students enrolled receive a tuition waiver, with rehearsals three days a week. The band played at the 2008 Sugar Bowl . BOP sponsored publications are meant to foremost provide students with opportunities as participants as well as readership, as well as provide the university community with journalistic as well as literary services, in order to promote the reputation of the university as well as student publication programs. The BOP also provides fiscal and management oversight to provide support to and promote the student press. The BOP relies on revolving fund resources, which are derived from a student publications fee, plus additional revenue generated by advertising.
