  1. Dua Libro

Esperanto sidebar expanded History The Dua Libro de l Lingvo Internacia Second Book of the International Language was the second publication to describe the international language Esperanto then called Lingvo Internacia , international language , and the first book ever to appear entirely in Esperanto. It was published in Esperanto in Warsaw in 1888 by L. L. Zamenhof Dr. L.L. Zamenhof , shortly after the publication of his Unua Libro . The Dua Libro was originally intended to be published in five or six volumes during 1888, with one volume appearing approximately every two months. Zamenhof s intention with the books was to provide some sample reading material in Esperanto, and to respond to questions about the language. During 1888 he would consider suggestions for changes to Esperanto, so that it would be fixed in its final form by the time of the publication of the final volume at the end of the year. After the publication of the Dua Libro , Zamenhof decided that there was no need for the other planned volumes instead, he published the Aldono al la Dua Libro de l Lingvo Internacia Supplement to the Second Book of the International Language . The only change he made in the language during 1888 was to change the spelling of the time correlative words when , then , sometime , always , never to their modern forms. The Dua Libro consists of a foreword, two sections of comments on the Esperanto project, and 20 sections of sample Esperanto text. The sample texts include collections of model sentences, a translation of the Hans Christian Andersen story The Shadow 28fairy tale 29 The Shadow , some popular sayings, and two poems. 1. Secondo libro di toccate (Frescobaldi)

Il secondo libro di toccate The Second Book of Toccatas is a collection of keyboard music by Girolamo Frescobaldi , first published in 1627. A work of immense historical importance, it includes the first known chaconne and passacaglia, as well as the earliest set of variations on an original theme i.e. not a popular song, as in all earlier music . Il secondo libro di toccate is widely regarded as a high point in Frescobaldi s oeuvre. History Like Frescobaldi s first book of toccatas 1615 , Il secondo libro di toccate contains compositions in various forms 11 toccatas 6 canzonas 4 hymns 3 Magnificats 5 gagliarde galliards 6 correntes 4 partitas Accordingly the full title of the collection is Il secondo libro di toccate, canzone, versi d hinni, Magnificat, gagliarde, correnti et altre partite d intavolatura di cembalo et organo . It was first published in Rome in 1627, when Frescobaldi worked as organist of St. Peter s Basilica . The print was engraved by Nicol Borbone, musician and instrument builder with whom Frescobaldi had worked since at least 1613. The composer dedicated the book to Monsignor Luigi Gallo, Bishop of Ancona and nuncio of Savoy , a skilled keyboard player who may have been one of his pupils. A second printing appeared in 1637, identical to the first, except without the ostinato variations. ref Silbiger, Grove. ref Il secondo libro di toccate introduces two important deviations from Frescobaldi s usual practice. First and foremost, it contains several liturgical pieces, the composer s first forays into the field of sacred keyboard music although he did compose sacred vocal music two collections of motets, one of which is lost, were published in late 1620s, and standalone motets survive in manuscripts Frescobaldi would later publish a large volume of liturgical organ pieces, Fiori musicali , one of his most highly regarded and influential works . Secondly, the book contains Frescobaldi s only known intabulation of Jacques Arcadelt s madrigal Ancidetemi ...   more details

Einstein wrote the first real textbook on Esperanto, in which he presented the language s correlative pronouns and adverbs in a table. He also introduced changes to the language s many root words. After Einstein s death, Zamenhof wrote that his name should be written in gold letters in the history of Esperanto. However, later, during the Esperanto reform period of 1894, Zamenhof complained that the reform movement had begun when the members of Einstein s Nuremberg club gave up Volap k and became Esperantists, with the condition that the necessary in their opinions reforms would be made to Esperanto. On the 100th anniversary of Einstein s death, a plaque was hung in Nuremberg commemorating the house where he lived. ref name esp nirn Anny Har ...   more details
