At that time it was part of the Mus e d armes anciennes, d armures, d objets d art et de numismatique . Three years later the cabinet was integrated in the Royal Library of Belgium . Collections Over the years purchases and gifts have expanded the size of the cabinet. 1899 the cabinet buys the collection of Alb ric du Chastel. It consists of approx. 800 Greek and Roman pieces. Some of these are rare, for instance the aureus of Uranius Antoninus. One year later it obtains its most precious gift. After the death of big time collector Lucien de Hirsch, his mother gives his collection to the Belgium State. The biggest treasure of this collection is without doubt the tetradrachm of Aetna, supposedly the most valuable item in the entire field of numismatics whatever the period or the place of striking. In 1904 the cabinet is again enlarged with a big collection. With the H. Surmont de Volsberghe collection the cabinet gains many hundreds coins, medallions, decorations and jetons. In 1924 the Cabinet shares with the University Foundation the collection of count B. de Jonghe. Soon after this transaction, the foundation handed its part over to the cabinet. In 1971 the National Bank of Belgium made the cabinet gatekeeper of the treasure of Liberchies hundreds of Roman aurei . 1976 addition of 5.549 pieces via the collection of Dom Gr goire De Clercq. More recent gifts are the collections of Claude Roelandt and Z phyr Henin. Oriental CoinCabinet Jena lang de Orientalisches M nzkabinett Jena is a collection of oriental coins at Jena University , in Jena , Germany , founded in 1840 . History In 1840, Johann Gustav Stickel , Professor for Oriental languages at Jena University , succeeded in convincing the Grandduke of Saxe Weimar Eisenach to acquire a collection of 1,500 Oriental coins, and allowing him to study them. The collection was formed by Heinrich August Zwick, missionary of the German Protestant Herrnhut Brotherhood, in Russia. He lived at the missionary outpost and small town Sarepta at the banks of the Volga river from 1816 to 1832. He is regarded as one of the pioneers of the Volga archaeology. Stickel won Maria Pavlovna , the Grand duchess, as the main benefactor of the collection, which in turn grew rapidly. At the death of Stickel in 1896 the collection comprised about 12,000 specimens. At the end of the 19th century the keen interest of Orientalist for Islamic coins as textual sources lost its momentum, because of the abundance of other now edited texts. In 1906 Stickel s successor, the Orientalist Karl Vollers gave the figure of about 14,000 specimens. He died in 1909. The Uppsala Synod in 1593 was the most important synod of the Lutheran Church of Sweden . Sweden had gone through its Protestant Reformation and broken with Roman Catholicism in the 1520s, but an official confession of faith had never been declared. The synod was summoned to Uppsala by Charles IX of Sweden Duke Charles , heir to the Swedish throne. Four bishop s and over 300 priests were also present. The synod was opened on March 1, by Nils G ransson Gyllenstierna, and on the following day Nicolaus Olai Bothniensis , a professor of theology at the UppsalaUniversity , was elected chairman. By March 5, the synod had decided to declare the Holy Scripture the sole guideline for religion. The three creed s the Apostles Creed Apostles , the Nicene Creed Nicene , and the Athanasian Creed Athanasian were officially recognized, and the Lutheran Augsburg Confession 1530 was adopted in its original form. After the unanimous acceptance of the unaltered Augsburg Confession, Nicolaus Olai Bothniensis , who was presiding, exclaimed, Now Sweden is one man, and we all have one Lord and God. ref N.F.
