    Luzio Dolci or Dolce of Urbania Castel Durante in the state of Urbino , who flourished in 1689, is commended for his altar pieces and other pictures in the churches there. It is said that he was employed by the Duchy of Urbino Duke of Urbino to paint at the Villa Imperiale Imperiale . He executed many works at Rome, as well as at Castel Durante, and resided in the former city for some time. There are few particulars recorded of him, though he is often mentioned with high commendation.     The Orto Botanico Pierina Scaramella 2,200 m , also known as the Orto Botanico dell Universit di Urbino , is a botanical garden maintained by the University of Urbino , and located at via Bramante, 28, Urbino , Marche , Italy . Entrance is free. The garden was established in 1806 by Giovanni De Brignole. It was organized into two major sections with trees at the higher elevation and rectangular flower beds below. A large greenhouse was built in 1811, and in 1812 the garden s first catalog listed 2731 species . Today the garden contains medicinal and ornamental plants such as Ailanthus glandulosus , Sophora japonica , and Cycadaceae and Gymnospermae . Trees include Acer pseudo platanus , Fagus silvatica , Fraxinus excelsior , Liriodendron tulipifera , Quercus ilex , and Taxus baccata . He occupied Urbino in 1375 and also owned Cagli . After the Gabrielli of Gubbio plotted against him, though in vain, he obtained the lordship of that city, being confirmed as its Papal vicar by Benedict IX . In 1391, while warring against the house of Malatesta Malatesta , Antonio took the castle of Sassoferrato and Cantiano . He had his son Guidantonio da Montefeltro Guidantonio married with Ringarda Malatesta and her daughter Gentile to the lord of Faenza . He died in 1404, after fleeing Urbino during a plague. In 1403, at the death of his father Antonio II da Montefeltro Antonio , Guidantonio inherited the family lands in the region of Italy called the Marche . Later he abandoned the Papal suzerainty and allied with King Ladislaus of Naples , who made him Grand connestabile of the Kingdom of Naples in 1411. Excommunicated by Pope Gregory XII , he took advantage of that move to conquer Assisi . Guidantonio later reconciled with Pope Martin V and with his enemy, the condottiero Braccio da Montone . In 1427 he occupied Urbania . He died in 1443, his son Oddantonio da Montefeltro Oddantonio succeeding him in Urbino. Family and children He married House of Malatesta Ringarda Malatesta in 1397, but the two had no children. Guidantonio remarried with Caterina Colonna, who bore him 9 children. Apart from Oddantonio, his most famous son was Federico da Montefeltro Federico , who was Duke of Urbino, as well as a condottiero and one of the most famous patron of arts in the Italian Renaissance . His daughter Seraphina Sforza Sveva 1434 1478 married Alessandro Sforza , lord of Pesaro . Biography He was born at Urbino , an inherited the title of count of Cantiano after the premature death of his brother Buonconte in 1458. In 1464 he abandoned the studies for the military career, following his father against the papal army led by Alessandro Sforza . In 1470 he took part in the battle of Mulazzano and, two years later, he took part in the siege of Volterra , always as lieutenant of Federico III. The two were both at the service of Alfonso V of Aragon in the Kingdom of Naples in 1474. His wife was Emilia di Carpi, the daughter of count Marco II of Carpi MO Carpi and Sassuolo she was perhaps portrait of Emilia Pia da Montefeltro portrayed by Raphael in 1504 1505.
