It is the sixth disc from Enigma s 15 Years After box set , labeled as a bonus disc and also includes the radio edit of Hello and Welcome . With the exception of the opening track, the album is composed of covers done by Rollo in an Ambient music ambient and minimalism minimalist way. The only instruments used in the songs are violin s, piano s, drum s, bell instrument bell like instruments, guitar s and some synth s. The songs were mixed by Rollo, Mark Bates and Grippa . The slow style of Rollo s covers raised the ire of some Enigma fans. Before the disc s track list was confirmed, there were plenty of alterations, with some songs being switched for another. The Variations and Fugue for Piano in E music flat major, Op. 35 are a set of fifteen variations for solo piano composed by Ludwig van Beethoven in 1802. They are commonly referred to as the Eroica Variations because variations on the same theme were used as the finale of his Symphony No. 3 Beethoven Symphony No. 3 Eroica composed the following year. The theme used was a favorite of Beethoven s. It was featured in the finale of the ballet music he composed for The Creatures of Prometheus Beethoven The Creatures of Prometheus 1800 and then as the seventh of his 12 Contredanses, WoO 14 1800 02 before being the subject of the variations of this work and of the later symphony. It begins thus Image Beethoven Op35 Theme and Bass.png 550px In a departure from the classical Variation music theme and variations form, Beethoven opens the work not with the main theme, but the bass line to the main theme. He then follows with three variations of this bass line before finally stating the main theme. This approach was carried over from the ballet music, where it represented the gradual creation of life forms by Prometheus. The variations in the Eroica Symphony follow this same pattern. In another departure from traditional variation form, after the fifteen variations of the main theme, Beethoven finishes the work with a finale consisting of a fugue followed by an Andante con moto . The work lasts about 25 minutes. Variations is a series of works by United States American avant garde composer John Cage . Some of the pieces in the series are seminal examples of Indeterminacy in music indeterminate music , others are happening s performance pieces executed according to the score. Variations I 1958 The first piece in the series is dedicated to David Tudor and was a belated birthday present. The score consists of six transparent squares one with 27 Point geometry points of four different sizes, five with five lines each. The squares are to be combined in any way, with points representing sounds, and lines used as Cartesian coordinate system axes of various characteristics of these sounds lowest frequency, simplest overtone structure, etc. Said characteristics are obtained by dropping Perpendicular perpendiculars from points and measuring these perpendiculars. The piece is to be performed by any number of performers on any kind and number of instruments. Variations II 1961 This work is intended for any number of players and any sound producing means. The score consists of eleven transparent sheets six lines and five points. The mechanism is the same as in Variations I perpendiculars are dropped from points to lines to determine sound characteristics, except that the list of characteristics is different frequency, amplitude, timbre, etc. Variations III 1962 Intended for one or any number of people performing any actions , this is the first entry in the series that does not make any references to music, musical instruments or sounds.
