2 Mai IPA ro doj maj , May 2 is a village in Limanu Communes of Romania commune , Constan a County , Romania , and a small resort on the shore of the Black Sea , between Mangalia and Vama Veche . The village was founded by Mihail Kog lniceanu in 1887 under the name Dou Mai . Its first inhabitants were Russians from Bucharest , Ia i and Gala i . Later Lipovans from Tulcea County and Romanians from Arge County settled here. The main occupation of the villagers is the agritourism , fishing , tourism and agriculture. The village of 2 Mai has recently become known in Romania as a resort for middle aged people and youngsters in search of a quiet place on the seaside. It also benefits from being close to Vama Veche , a very popular resort with the Romanian youngsters. As a resort 2 Mai features hotels and hostels. Local villagers houses or campsites can also provide accommodation. Beside several restaurants and bars there is also a popular nightclub. Rhemaxos was an ancient king who ruled to the north of Danube around 200 BC and who was the protector of the Greek colony Greek colonies in Dobruja , receiving a tribute from them in exchange of protection against outside attacks. It appears that the links with the Greek cities lasted a rather long period of time, as several treaties have been found. His origin is still unknown. Most historians have suggested that he was the chieftain of a Dacian tribe union on the Romanian Plain , although there are other possibilities, such as his having been a Scythians Scythian or even a Celt from Bessarabia .
