Vectorworks offers 2D, 3D, production management, and presentation capabilities for all phases of the design process. History Vectorworks was previously known as MiniCAD. It was originally developed on Mac OS . It was developed by Diehl Graphsoft , now Nemetschek Vectorworks, Inc. Alongside MiniCAD, Diehl Graphsoft also released a 2D CAD program for the Mac targeted toward architects called Blueprint. The version numbers went up to 12 and are numbered from 2008 and on by the year i.e. currently 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 . The data files used the MCD extension from MiniCAD until version 12. Vectorworks 2008 and onwards use the VWX extension. The software is typically used by importing the structural design via CAD files. Then lighting elements are inserted. And finally, the lighting objects are associated with a photometry via IES files. The photometry of a light fixture describes the way it distributes its light into space. Parasolid s capabilities include model creation and editing utilities such as Boolean modeling operators, feature modeling support, advanced surfacing, thickening and hollowing, blending and filleting and sheet modeling. Parasolid also includes tools for direct model editing, including tapering, offsetting, geometry replacement and removal of feature details with automated regeneration of surrounding data. Parasolid also provides wide ranging graphical and rendering support, including hidden line, wireframe and drafting, tessellation and model data inquiries. When exported from the parent software package, a Parasolid commonly has the file extension .x t . Another format is .x b , which is in binary format so it is more machine independent and not subject to binary to text conversion errors. A part of Langara College s Theatre arts Theatre Arts Program, the school offers professional theatre training for actors and production personnel. It is the only conservatory style theatre training program in Western Canada . Studio 58 is a three year program for acting and a two year program for production. The school operates its own theatre and presents 4 full length productions annually. Professional directors and designers are hired to work on each production. Studio 58 productions are open to the public and reviewed by the Vancouver media. The Program An average day begins at 8 30 a.m. and finishes by 11 00 p.m. The daily routine includes classes, crew calls, rehearsals and the evening performances of our public shows. Working into the weekends is not uncommon. All students are required to take first year English.
