    Primarysources date July 2006 The Institute Vienna Circle IVC is an international non profit organisation nonprofit society founded in October 1991 by Friedrich Stadler and is located at the University of Vienna . Objectives The society has two main objectives To initiate and promote the documentation of the main body of work of the Vienna Circle and further contributions to the development of its scientific program in the areas of science and adult education To cultivate and apply logical empiricism , critical rationalism and linguistic analysis in the sense of a scientific philosophy, coordinated with general socio cultural developments. An important goal of this effort is the democratization of knowledge. It leads to science being understood as a process of enlightenment in contrast to irrationalism, dogmatism and fundamentalism in any social setting, but in cooperation with developments of research. Activities The IVC puts its vision into practice by organising a large number of workshops, conferences and seminars on the philosophy of science and related topics. In addition, the IVC publishes very actively in this area at an international level. The IVC hosts a unique research library of outstanding value to researchers all over the world. It includes jewels such as Otto Neurath s Private Library, the Robert S. Cohen Collection and Archives, the Adolf Gr nbaum Archives, the Kurt Blaukopf Library, the Kurt Rudolf Fischer Kurt R. After writing and rehearsing for some months the band played their first concert at the Croydon Underground in December 1985, just prior to the release of their first Single music single Rise in2a0 Rise . Bee and Barry undertook the production, artwork and layouts. Rise quickly sold out it was a limited pressing of 5,000 copies and a short tour of England and Scotland followed in March 1986. The band was joined on three dates and subsequent ones by Rose McDowall , from Strawberry Switchblade . In July 1986 a deal was signed with Abstract Records, followed by the release of their next single, Inside Out Into a Circle song Inside Out . This was a success and live dates over the Christmas period followed.
