The Vlaamse Opera Flemish Opera is an opera company in Belgium directed by Aviel Cahn which operates in two different opera houses in two Flemish cities, the Vlaamse Opera Antwerpen at Van Ertbornstraat 8 and the Vlaamse Opera Ghent at Schouwburgstraat 3. However, the company shares one orchestra, choir, technical team, etc. The organization is mainly financed by the Flemish government and the city councils of Antwerp and Ghent. In its current form, it was created in 1996 as a successor to Vlaamse Opera Stichting Flemish Opera Foundation , which had existed since 1988 , and Opera voor Vlaanderen Opera for Flanders , which had existed since 1981 . Both former institutions were similar fusions between the former opera houses of Antwerp and Ghent. Two tiers of this competition exist one for 9th and 10th graders, and one for 11th and 12th graders. Procedure The competition lasts three rounds. During the first and second rounds, students must answer 30 multiple choice mathematics problems. The first round occurs in schools, and the second round is organized by Provinces of Flanders province , and is administered at various university universities . The first round has a three hour time limit for completion, the second round has a two hour time limit. The final round consists of four problems which require a detailed and coherence linguistics coherent essay type response. After the final round, 3 contestants are selected to compete in the International Mathematical Olympiad . Image Flag of the Flemish Community Commission.svg thumb flag Politics of Brussels The Vlaamse Gemeenschapscommissie or VGC , or, in English language English , the Flemish Community Commission is the local representative of the Flanders Flemish authorities in the Brussels Capital Region , one of the three regions of Belgium . The VGC depends on the Flemish Parliament , and its council is made up by the members of the Dutch linguistic group of the Brussels Parliament , whereas its executive is made up of the two Flemish ministers and the Flemish secretary of the Brussels Capital Government. The VGC was established by the special constitutional law of 12 January 1989. The VGC has competencies for cultural, educational, well being and health for Fleming s in Brussels. It reaches and estimated 200.000 inhabitants of Brussels with its services, mostly Dutch speakers, and a significant number of Immigration migrant s. However, several of these competencies are rather limited in practice, e.g. it has not the slightest authority for hospitals. Strictly legally speaking, the VGC is only competent for institutions depending from the Flemish government, and not for individual persons. This was a consequence of the fact that no formal Flemish citizenship was established. The VGC is the successor from the Nederlandse Commissie voor de Cultuur van de Brusselse agglomeratie NCC in Dutch , established in 1971.
