Free Voters Freie W hler , FW is a Germany German concept in which an association of persons participates in an election without having the status of a registered political party . Usually it is a locally organized group of voters in the form of a Eingetragener Verein registered association eV . In most cases, Free Voters are active only at the local government level, standing for city council s and for mayor . Free Voters tend to be most successful in rural areas of Southern Germany, appealing the most to conservative voters who prefer local decisions to party politics. A meeting of the Union Cabinet of India Cabinet Ministers Union Cabinet , chaired by Prime Minister of India Prime Minister Manmohan Singh , approved a Law Ministry proposal to this effect, Minister of Information and Broadcasting Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni told reporters. Observing that new voters, who have attained the age of 18 years, were showing less interest in getting enrolled in the electoral rolls, she said the level of their enrolment was as low as 20 to 25 per cent in certain cases. In order to effectively deal with this problem, the Election Commission of India Election Commission has decided to take up a vigorous exercise to identify all eligible voters attaining the age of 18 years as on January one every year in each of the 8.5 lakh polling stations across the country, she said. Such eligible voters would be enrolled on time and handed over their Electoral Photo Identity Card EPIC on January 25 every year, Ambika Soni Soni said, adding this initiative is expected to give the youth a sense of empowerment, pride and inspire them to exercise their franchise. Colorado Conservation Voters CCV works to turn conservation values into Colorado policy. Its mission is to make environmental protection a top priority for voters, political candidates, and elected officials in Colorado. CCV educates the public about the conservation positions of candidates and elected officials, and holds elected officials accountable for their environmental records. CCV is a 501 c 4 organization and was formed in 1998. In its role as a watchdog organization, CCV produces the Colorado Legislative Environmental Scorecard at the close of each Legislative Session. The Scorecard provides nonpartisan, factual information on how each member of the Colorado Legislature voted on a range of environmental issues. The Scorecard is produced in consultation with an Advisory Committee of environmental experts from across the state.
