Volkswerft lang de Volkswerft Stralsund GmbH is a shipyard in the hanseatic city of Stralsund on the Strelasund . It is part of the Germany German Hegemann group. Image 2006 03 xx Containerschiff vor der Volkswerft Stralsund.jpg thumb 330px The Maersk Boston in port. The Volkswerft was founded in 1945 as Ingenieurbau Ges.m.b.H. . On April 25 the first trawler was delivered and on June 15 1948 the Volkseigener Betrieb VEB Volkswerft Stralsund was registered. From 1948 till 1953 the shipyard produced 196 ships, all of them to be used for reparation payments to the Soviet Union. In the following years, the Volkswerft produced trawlers for the Soviet and other fleets. In October 1957, the first ship built for a fleet not pertaining to the Eastern Bloc was delivered to Iceland . In 1973, Lloyd s of London saw the Volkswerft as number one in the production of trawlers worldwide. After 1990, the Volkswerft was privatized two times, first as Volkswerft Stralsund GmbH becoming part of the Bremer Vulkan Vulkan Gruppe Bremen in 1993.Then, since 1998, she is part of the Maersk group, Maersk having paid 25 millions German mark DM to the Treuhand . The yard is completely modernized by now, including a large shipbuilding hall and a 230 m now 275 m length ship lift to launch the ships. Container ships 2,500 class are produced for the M rsk fleet. They have a size of 2,900 3,000 TEU. Supply vessels and cable laying vessels are also produced. Unreferenced date July 2007 Sewage pumping is normally done by a submersible pump . This became popular in the early 1960s, when a guide rail system was developed to lift the submersible pump out of the pump station for repair, and ended the dirty and sometimes dangerous task of sending people into the sewage or wet pit. Growth of the submersible pump for sewage pumping since has been dramatic, as an increasing number of specifiers and developers learned of their advantages. Three classes of submersible pumps exist Smaller submersible pumps, used in domestic and light commercial applications, normally handle up to 55mm spherical solids and range from 0.75  kW to 2.2  kW. Larger submersible pumps, handle 65mm and larger solids and normally have a minimum of 80mm discharge. They are generally used in municipal and industrial applications for pumping sewage and all types of industrial wastewater. Submersible chopper pumps , which are used to handle larger concentrations of solids and or tougher solids that conventional sewage pumps cannot handle. Chopper pumps are generally used in municipal and industrial wastewater applications and provide clog free operation by maceration sewage macerating those solids that might clog other types of submersible pumps. Submersible pumps are normally used in a packaged pump station where drainage by gravity is not possible. Vertical type sewage pumps have also been used for many years. They have the motor above the floor so work on the motor can be done without entering the sewage pit. Unreferenced stub auto yes date December 2009 A monogenetic volcanic field is a volcanic field of small, scattered volcanic vents. These volcanic fields, containing numerous monogenetic volcanoes, are noted for having only one short eruptive event at each volcano, as opposed to regular volcanoes that have several eruptions from the same vent over a long period in their history. Monogenetic fields occur only where the magma supply to the volcano is low or where vents are not close enough or large enough to develop plumbing systems for continuous feeding of magma. Monogenetic volcanoes such as Par cutin in Mexico are typically cinder cone s. Monogenetic volcanic fields can provide snapshots of the underlying region beneath the surface, and may be useful in studying the generation of magma and the composition of the mantle since the single eruption produced would match that of the chamber from which it erupted.
