    Anne Butler Yeats 9 May 1919 &ndash 4 July 2001 was an Irish painter and stage designer. She was a daughter of the poet William Butler Yeats and a niece of the painter Jack B. Yeats , niece of Lily Yeats an embroidery embroiderer associated with the Celtic Revival , and botanic artist Elizabeth Yeats . Her brother Michael Yeats was a politician. Born in Dublin , Ireland, Anne Yeats trained in the Royal Hibernian Academy school from 1933 36 and worked as a stage designer with the Abbey before taking up painting full time in 1941 she had a touching naive expressionist style and was interested in representing domestic humanity. The Royal Hibernian Academy held a retrospective of her work in 1995, as did the National Gallery of Ireland in 2002. She donated her collection of Jack B. Yeats sketch books to the National Gallery of Ireland, leading to the creation of the Yeats Museum within the Gallery. Her brother, Michael, in turn, donated her sketchbooks to the Museum. Yeats never married.     William Butler ? 1818 was an American militiaman who fought in the Creek War . Born in Virginia, he moved first to Georgia U.S. state Georgia where he briefly held elected office before moving west into the Alabama Territory . He served as a militia leader during the Creek War from 1813 1814. He was killed by Native Americans near Butler Springs, Alabama on March 20, 1818 when a group of local settlers he was leading was attacked by Native Americans under the command of a man named Savannah Jack. He was a presiding judge of the Court of Common Pleas in Harrisburg from 1861 to 1879. On February 12, 1879, Butler was nominated by President Rutherford B. Hayes to a seat on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania vacated by John Cadwalader jurist John Cadwalader . Butler was confirmed by the United States Senate on February 19, 1879, and received his commission the same day. Butler served in that capacity until his retirement from the bench on January 31, 1899. He died in Chester County, Pennsylvania . About She was born as Gr inne Ni hEigeartaigh in Dublin, Ireland, and was raised bilingually in Irish and English. As well as obtaining a degree in history from Trinity College Dublin, Gr inne Yeats studied piano, voice and harp at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin and also studied traditional songs and music from the Irish speaking Gaeltacht areas of Ireland. She wrote and researched the history and music of the Cl rsach wire strung harp , and she was one of the first professional musicians to revive and record this ancient traditional instrument. She wrote entries about Turlough Carolan Carolan and other Irish harpers in the New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians . He was a son of William Butler 1759 1821 , brother of Andrew Butler , and father of Matthew Butler , all of whom served in the United States Congress . His brother Pierce Mason Butler was Governor of South Carolina from 1836 to 1838. Butler was born near the present town of Saluda, South Carolina . He graduated from South Carolina College at Columbia, South Carolina in 1810. He had studied medicine and was licensed to practice. During the War of 1812 , he served as a United States Navy surgeon at the Battle of New Orleans . While stationed in Rhode Island in 1819, he married Jane Tweedy Perry. She was a daughter of Christopher Raymond Perry , and was a sister to Oliver Hazard Perry and Matthew Calbraith Perry . Butler served in the United States Navy Navy until June 6, 1820, when he resigned. In 1825 he moved to Greenville, South Carolina where he began practice as a country doctor.
