    William Bennett Webster January 18, 1798 &ndash April 4, 1861 was a doctor, amateur geologist and political figure in Nova Scotia . He represented King s County in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1855 to 1861. He was born in Kentville, Nova Scotia , the son of Doctor Isaac Webster and Prudence Bentley. He studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh , later returning to Kentville around 1822. In 1826, Webster married Wilhelmina Moore. He helped found the Nova Scotia Medical Society in 1854. He also laid out the plan for the main streets of Kentville. Webster died in office at City of Halifax Halifax at the age of 63. His geological collection was donated to the provincial museum. On 26 July 1921 he married Ellen Webster Ellen Callachor , who would later be one of the first women to sit in the New South Wales Parliament . In 1927 he was elected president of the New South Wales Australian Labor Party , serving until 1928. He and his wife were both supporters of controversial New South Wales Premier Jack Lang Australian politician Jack Lang . He ran several times for state and federal elections without success. He studied in the first instance at the University of Montpellier , where he befriended Auguste Comte and took the degree of M.D. in 1825. Two years later he was entered at Trinity College, Cambridge , where his brother, the Rev. John Hutton Fisher, was a fellow and assistant tutor. He later migrated to Downing College, Cambridge Downing College , where he graduated M.B. in 1834. Shortly afterwards he succeeded to a fellowship. Elected to the Downing Professorship of Medicine in 1841, Fisher resigned his fellowship in 1844.
