It is currently served by the Binyamina Tel Aviv Ashkelon suburban line. Ashdod Ad Halom Station was opened in June 1995 and was fully rebuilt in 2003. Starting in 1917 a small station also operated at the site during the British Mandate of Palestine Mandate period on the Beirut Cairo line. The station is located in Ad Halom area near the eastern entrance to the city of Ashdod . Two bus lines serve the station, one travelling through the city to the central bus station and on to the terminus at Ashdod Marina . In December 2006, it served a daily average of 4,070 passengers. Current when date September 2011 travel time from the station to Tel Aviv is approximately 45 minutes. However, an extension to the new railway line currently being built through Holon and Yavne West will shorten the travel time from Tel Aviv to the station by a third to approximately 30 minutes in each direction. The station contains a small beverage and refreshment kiosk. Like most Yeshivat Hesder Yeshivot Hesder , Kerem B Yavneh is a Religious Zionism religious Zionist institution, advocating the position that the State of Israel is a concrete step forward in the coming of the final redemption. It also has an open outlook towards western culture, both with faculty holding university degrees and students attending university Citation needed date July 2009 . Structure and enrollment Programs within the yeshiva include a Yeshivat Hesder Hesder track, a gap year for overseas students and a Kollel Ledayanut a Kollel for training of religious court judges . The yeshiva has an enrollment of around 450 students, including students from Israel and from overseas, most of whom reside in dormitories on campus. Overseas students come mainly from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada, but also other countries.
