The Prior of Oronsay was the superior hierarchy Religious Superior of Oronsay Priory , a community of canons regular on the island of Oronsay, Inner Hebrides , off the coast of Scotland. It was in existence by 1353, perhaps founded by John of Islay, Lord of the Isles . It is probable that most of the priors have not come down to us by name. He attended the rural schools and Hartland Academy, and taught school. Smith served in the Maine House of Representatives from 1899 to 1903 and from 1919 to 1923 he engaged in the retail clothing and hardware business in 1901, and was Hartland s superintendent of schools from 1903 to 1906. From 1904 to 1907, he was a member of the Hartland board of selectmen , and moved to Skowhegan, Maine , having been elected sheriff of Somerset County, Maine Somerset County , serving from 1905 to 1909. He engaged in the retail sale of automobiles and the hardware and plumbing business, as well as the newspaper publishing business in Skowhegan. He later engaged in banking and real estate. This fragmentation followed the death of Yuan Shikai , who was the only person capable of keeping the Beiyang Army together. It was named for the general region of the clique s base of power, Zhili Province, now Hebei . Unlike other cliques, this one was formed by officers who felt discriminated against by Premier Duan Qirui in matters of appointment and promotions. They rallied around President Feng Guozhang who had to share power with Duan s dominant Anhui clique in the Beiyang government .
