The term zygomatic derives from the Greek zygoma meaning yoke . The zygomatic arch is occasionally referred to as the zygoma , but this term usually refers to the zygomatic bone or occasionally the zygomatic process . The zygomatic process of the temporal arises by two roots an anterior , directed inward in front of the mandibular fossa , where it expands to form the articular tubercle. a posterior , which runs backward above the external acoustic meatus and is continuous with the supramastoid crest. Unreferenced date December 2009 Image Lippizaner DSC02450.JPG thumb right 400px Longe cavesson, fitted with a bit. A longeing cavesson UK English lungeing is a piece of equipment used when longeing a horse. A longeing cavesson consists of a heavy, padded noseband , metal rings to attach the longe line , a throatlatch, and sometimes additional straps such as a jowl strap or a browband for added stability. It is placed on the horse s head in a manner somewhat akin to a halter , but provides significantly more control than a halter, without placing pressure on the horse s mouth as a bridle would. The noseband should be just below the cheekbone, several inches above the nostrils sitting on the nasal bone, and fitted snugly. The jowl strap should be very snug to prevent the cavesson from slipping into the horse s eye. The key feature of a longeing cavesson is the strategic placement of rings for varying places to attach the longe line one at the top of the nasal bone and one each side of the noseband. Many other types of headgear may be used for longeing, but the longeing cavesson is most commonly associated with dressage and related training methods and is designed to allow more subtle communication between handler and horse. A longeing cavesson may be used with a snaffle bit snaffle bridle. The cavesson is put on under the bridle, with the noseband of the cavesson under the bridle cheekpieces. On some horses, the bridle cheekpieces may need to be lengthened to allow this. If the bridle also has its own noseband cavesson , it may need to be removed to reduce bulk and avoid interference with other components. Image Blush and blush brush.jpg thumb Rouge and brush Image Dance little sister.jpg thumb A dancer wearing rouge Rouge IPAc en icon r u lang fr red , also called blush or blusher UK , is a cosmetics cosmetic typically used by women to redden the cheek s so as to provide a more youthful appearance, and to emphasize the cheekbone s. Historically, rouge was used as early as in ancient Egypt . It was also applied on the lips, the way lipstick would be used today. In some times and places, both men and women wore rouge, such as during the English Regency Regency period in England. In Britain s Victorian Age , when wearing makeup was associated with low morals, ladies resorted to pinch ing their cheeks and biting their lips to make them appear red instead. Various substances have been used as rouge. In ancient Greece for example, crushed Mulberry mulberries were favoured, while red beet juice and crushed Strawberry strawberries have also variously been used. In modern times, rouge generally consists of a red coloured talcum based powder that is applied with a brush to the cheek. The colouring is usually either the substance of safflor the petals of safflower , or a solution of carmine in ammonium hydroxide and rosewater perfumed with rose oil . A cream based variant of rouge is schnouda , a colourless mixture of Alloxan with cold cream , which also colours the skin red. The name of the condition indicates that it affects the bones of the vertebral column spine spondylo and two regions near the ends of bones epiphyses and metaphyses . This type was named after the first reported patient with the disorder. Spondyloepimetaphyseal dysplasia, Strudwick type is a subtype of collagenopathy, types II and XI . The signs and symptoms of this condition at birth are very similar to those of spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita , a related skeletal disorder. Beginning in childhood, the two conditions can be distinguished in X ray images by changes in areas near the ends of bones metaphyses . These changes are characteristic of spondyloepimetaphyseal dysplasia, Strudwick type. People with this condition are short statured from birth, with a very short trunk and shortened limbs. Their hands and feet, however, are usually average sized. Curvature of the spine scoliosis and lumbar lordosis may be severe and can cause problems with breathing. Changes in the spinal bones vertebrae in the neck may also increase the risk of spinal cord damage. Other skeletal signs include flattened vertebrae platyspondyly , severe protrusion of the breastbone pectus carinatum , a hip joint deformity in which the upper leg bones turn inward coxa vara , and a foot deformity known as clubfoot . Affected individuals have mild and variable changes in their facial features. The cheekbone s close to the nose may appear flattened.
