ABS Global, formerly the American Breeders Service, is an artificial insemination company that sells frozen bovine semen from different breeds of cattle. The company was founded around in 1941 by J. Rockfeller Prentice, and its headquarters are located in De Forest, Wisconsin. ABS Has bred some of the most successful Holstein sires in history which include: S-W-D Valiant, Ocean-View Sexation, Paclamar Bootmaker, Hanover-hill Triple-Threat-Red, Southwind Bell-Of-Bar Lee, Arlinda Melwood, Ked Juror, Roylane Jordan, Regancrest Dundee and Picston Shottle. ABS also sells semen from other dairy cattle breeds such as Ayrshire, Jersey, Guernsey, Brown Swiss, Milking Shorthorn and Norwegian Red.[1] Semen from Beef breeds such as Angus, Brahman, Brangus, Charolais, Hereford, Gelbvieh, Limousin, Senepol and Simmental.[2] ABS Global was acquired by Genus in 1999.
