AFI-Uplift Ltd is a provider of aerial work platforms or powered access equipment in the UK available for rental. The company also offers training courses for safe working with these machines.

The currently 18 UK depots from which the various powered access equipment can be rented are located in Scotland (Glasgow), North West (Liverpool, Manchester & Preston), North East (Newcastle), East Yorkshire (Hull), West Yorkshire (Wakefield), West Midlands (Birmingham), East Midlands (Nottingham), Northern Home Countries (Milton Keynes), East Anglia (Peterborough), South East (Leyton - London City, London East, London South & London West), South (Southampton), South West (Bridgwater) and South Wales (Bridgend).

Hire Fleet

With over 4,000 machines, the hire fleet consists of:

• Scissor lifts up to 34 meters
• Boom lifts up to 43 meters
• Mast lifts up to 10 meters
• Push Around Vertical lifts up to 4.5 metres

Accreditations

In 2010 AFI have obtained both the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standard and the OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety standard by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service ( UKAS ).

IPAF Training

AFI offers IPAF accredited courses:

• Operator Training: This course trains operators in the safe use of the equipment such as scissor lifts, booms or trailer mounted platforms.
• Demonstrator Training: This course covers responsibilities of operators and promotes safe working practice.
• MEWPS for Managers Training: This course for supervisors and managers provides knowledge on safely co-ordinating various types of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs).
• Push Around Vertical (PAV) Training: This course trains operators in the safe use of VAPs.
• MEWP Harness Training: This course promotes the safe use of protection equipment.

PASMA Training

This course incorporates the requirements of the Work at Height Regulations 2005.

LMA Training

The certified training covers the identification of safe access equipment and how to safely use ladders and step ladders.
