Accel Animation Studios is an Indian animation studio that provides 2D, 3D animation, visual effects and gaming services for media companies in India and overseas. It is a division of Chennai-based technology services company, Accel Transmatic Limited and was formed in 2006.[1] It is the first Indian company to own a motion capture setup that uses the motion analysis technique. Currently, Accel Animation Studios has production facilities at two locations in Southern India, Chennai, a South Eastern city, and Trivandram, a South Western city, separated by about 500 km distance. Both these cities are metropolitan cities and are accessible by air, sea and land. Both the facilities enjoy promotional duty and tax exemptions as animation industry is considered a new venture by the Govt. of India. Both the centres are connected by dedicated satellite link, avoiding delay in transmission between the centres. Instant client access is enabled by high-speed Internet connectivity and FTP servers. Current infrastructure includes 320 High performance windows computer cluster quad core workstations, connected by GB Ethernet to online and near-line NAS storage device, 800 processor blade servers, and SUN SL500 tape library for automated backup. The systems are connected by High-speed Cisco Catalyst 4500 'E' series switch. Data security is ensured by restricted personnel access (biometric) to facilities, automated CCTV surveillance of workspaces, and secured machine rooms. Our infrastructure can boast of a 32 Camera Motion Capture System, on site audio recording and editing suite, manned by a professionally trained technocrat, and editing provided by 3 FCP edit suites, a color grading and confirming lab with Barco D-cinema projector. The Lighting and Compositing department works in a specially darkened / designed room featuring a fully color calibrated and managed environment. The management takes a keen interest in the health of the workforce. artists have a library, a canteen, a gym, a recreation centre and a meditation hall open throughout, to resort to mitigate work stress.
