Adam Strachan (born 24 February 1987 in Glasgow) is a Scottish professional footballer currently playing for Junior side Clydebank. Strachan came through the youth system at Partick Thistle and played almost 90 matches for the senior side, including some matches in the Scottish Premier League. Since leaving Thistle, Strachan has only played in the Scottish Football League, with such sides as Ross County, Dumbarton, Albion Rovers, Clyde, Stenhousemuir and latterly Arbroath. Career He was a product of the Partick Thistle youth system, having been signed from Partick Thistle Boys Club. He was thought to have a huge future ahead of him but never really fulfilled his early promise. In season 2006 07 he was a key player but the following season because of Stevie Murray he did not feature in the team regularly and was never a first pick under Ian McCall. He left Partick Thistle by mutual consent in December 2007, ending a near four-year stint with the club. He then joined Ross County on 2 January 2008.[1] In July 2009, Strachan went on trial with First Division rivals Greenock Morton.[2] He made his first appearance as a substitute in Austria, scoring the Inverclyde side's consolation goal in a 6 1 defeat by Slovakian champions Slovan Bratislava. In September 2009, Strachan signed for Third Division champions Dumbarton.[3] After just two games for the Sons, Strachan was loaned to fellow Third Division side Albion Rovers.[4] After being released by Dumbarton, he signed for Clyde on a free transfer in January 2010.[5] After impressing as a trialist, Strachan signed for Arbroath on 25 February 2011 until the end of the season. After agreeing to sign again at the Third Division champions, he went on holiday and then when he came back he refused to sign. He has since played a couple of trial matches for Junior side Clydebank.[6] He later signed a short-term deal with the Bankies.[7] References External links
