57th NHK K haku Uta Gassen controversy DJ OZMA was invited to perform at the 57th NHK K haku Uta Gassen, and before his performance he said it would be something "special". During his performance of "Age Age Every Night", several of his female dancers removed their dresses to reveal flesh-colored body suits with painted on breasts and nipples. The end of the song resulted in all of the dancers removing their panties revealing mushrooms covering where the genitals would be. The following day, NHK issued an apology to parents of children who stayed up to watch the performance and assured that the dancers were not actually nude. DJ OZMA also issued an apology, but placed part of the blame on NHK. In the aftermath of the performance, "Age Age Every Night" went up 65 places in the Oricon Ranking on January 15, 2007, from #107 the week before to #42. The controversy over OZMA and the NHK's handling of the aftermath also resulted in DJ OZMA's subsequent group Yazima Beauty Salon being prevented from performing at the 59th NHK K haku Uta Gassen in 2008, despite the popularity of the group's debut single.
