"Anywhere but Here" is the title of the fourth single released by American country music artist Sammy. It was co-written by Bob DiPiero and John Scott Sherrill with Buddy Cannon, who also produced it. It was released in September 1992 as the final single from his debut album, Don't Go Near the Water. It peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and #17 on the Canadian RPM country singles chart.

The narrator is getting a bus ticket to leave town after he found his lover fooling around. He doesn't care where the bus takes him as long as it's "anywhere but here".

Critical reception

Deborah Evans Price, of Billboard magazine reviewed the song favorably, saying that Kershaw "adds a bit of George Jones flair on this particular number."[1]

Music video

The music video was directed by Piers Plowden and premiered in late 1992.

"Anywhere but Here" debuted at number 73 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks for the week of October 3, 1992.
