Audio Bullys are an electronic music group from London, consisting of Simon Franks and Tom Dinsdale. The group were once managed by DJ and presenter George Lamb. The duo released their debut album Ego War in 2003, to positive reviews which helped to establish them as one of the best new acts in dance music. In 2005 they released Generation, the follow-up to their debut album. Despite reaching number 3 in the UK Singles Chart with their 2005 hit, "Shot You Down",[1] which sampled the Nancy Sinatra version of the song "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)", the album was poorly received. In a 2008 interview, Simon Franks suggested that they listened to their label, Virgin, too much: "We should never have listened to anyone else. Virgin admitted they didn't know how to market house music, and it slowly turned into us making this slower album. The daft thing is, "Shot You Down" was the big hit, this old-school club track, but it was followed by a moody, dark record. It confused everyone." In making Generation, the group worked with Suggs of Madness, collaborating on the track "This Road". Their album, Higher Than The Eiffel, was released on the 29 March 2010. Again this featured a collaboration with Suggs as well as his bandmate, keyboardist Mike Barson. On 18 February 2012, it was announced through the group's official Facebook page that Tom Dinsdale had left the group.[2] Discography Albums Singles | Year | Single | Chart positions | Album | | UK[1] | AUS | IRL | ITA | NL | | 2003 | "We Don't Care" | 15 | | | | | Ego War | | "The Things"/"Turned Away" | 22 | | | | | | "Way Too Long" | | | | | | | 2005 | "Shot You Down" (featuring Nancy Sinatra) | 3 | 17 | 22 | 47 | 17 | Generation | | "I'm in Love" | 27 | | 43 | | | | 2008 | "Gimme That Punk" | | | | | | Non-album single | | 2010 | "Only Man" | 44 | | | | | Higher Than the Eiffel | References External links be-x-old:Audio Bullys de:Audio Bullys es:Audio Bullys fr:Audio Bullys nl:Audio Bullys pl:Audio Bullys pt:Audio Bullys ru:Audio Bullys sv:Audio Bullys tr:Audio Bullys
