Augustine Gbao also known as Augustine Bao (born 13 August 1948 in Blama, Kenema) is a former Sierra Leonean paramilitary commander of the RUF. In February 2009, he was convicted of war crimes and crimes against humanity by the Special Court for Sierra Leone^[1] and sentenced to 25 years in prison.^[2] He was a senior commander in the Revolutionary United Front from 1991 until his capture in 2002.^[3]
