Baton Haxhiu () (born in 1967) is a journalist from Kosovo. In 1990s he started working as a junior journalist with Koha magazine. He later became editor-in-chief of Koha Ditore daily, established by publisher Veton Surroi. In this capacity, he won the CPJ International Press Freedom Award in 1999. Later he left Koha Ditore and became head of Kosovo's journalist union. In 2007 he joined the newly established daily Express, where he worked as a manager. In 2008 he was punished by the International Court for War Crimes for Contempt of Court, after a controversial article that may have threatened witnesses in a ongoing trial of a suspected war criminal.[1] Haxhiu works in Pristina now, as a operational manager in Klan TV station in Kosovo, and is frequently engaged in marketing campaigns for various political parties.
