Turbine blade milling on Starrag 5 axis machiningcenter
Duration: 4:31
Description: With the LX range, Starrag is present on the market with trend-setting products for the efficient machining of turbine blades. The LX range is equipped with a patented B-axis concept that locates the tools' pivotal point in the center of all axes. Thanks to this unique construction, the compensatory movements of all moving axes are minimized. The extremely compact, stiff and stable design of the B-axis permits a sharp and very direct transmission of forces. Thanks to the rotary and gantry coupling variations integrated in our patented linear axis concept, tension and thermal expansion, which can build up in a workpiece, is compensated for during machining. Machining parameters for every application that are operated over the CAM and NC program can be automatically adjusted. Depending on the requirements, the process can be optimized for either the highest possible chip removal rate or max. accuracy.
Description: Tutorial by Graham Stabler for using the CNC Toolkit to produce 5-axis toolpaths The video shows an older version of the CNC Toolkit. see www.cnc-toolkit.com for more info.
Description: The Biesse Rover AS offers a top of the range CNC at an entry level price. The Rover A is able to successfully handle any job thrown at it from joinery applications for windows to panel work for cabinets for bathrooms, kitchens and furniture. The Rover A comes in a choice if three options, the Rover AS, Rover A 4 axis or Rover A 5 axis.
Description: The CTX gamma 2000 TC with powerful turning and milling spindles and torque motor in the B-axis allows heavy and sophisticated complete machining. The video sequence shows in a very detailed way, a large variety of technology operation. From power turning, gear hobbing, threat milling, boring, eccentrically machining, punching up to 5-axes interpolation. The displayed part covers many operations which are known from the energy sector eg bore crowns in the off shore technology.
Description: An overview of Hurco WinMax, the world's easiest and most flexible control for G-code or Conversational programming. See how easy it is to be more profitable than using any other CNC control.(www.hurco.com)
Mastercam X5 and Machine Simulation on a 5-axis Demo Part
Duration: 14:12
Description: This demo part was programmed within the all-new Mastercam X5 Software, and demonstrates the included Machine Simulation. All toolpathing is set to show the best of what is new with Mastercam and trochoidal/dynamic tool motion. From here, the program can be sent to the 5-axis CNC Machine. With Mastercam X5 and Machine Simulation, the part can be cut with the assurance that it will be correct and crash-free.
Description: Machining a chamfered inlay using Legacy's OM5 series 5-axis turning / milling system. The chamfered edges insure a perfect fit and the v-bit technique results in perfectly square corners.
Milling a corbel using the A-axis on Legacy's OM5 CNC
Duration: 7:17
Description: Using the A-axis to rotate the part speeds up the milling process considerably eliminating the need to complete the part on one side before milling the second side.
Description: My first g-code program to machine 3 flats and drill 3 holes. I would now drill holes by pocket milling, in hindsight. I was using Sherline EMC CNC software at the time, I switched to Mach3 now.
Description: In this video I show how I went about cutting the front panel for a plastic ABS enclosure from Radioshack. I cut holes for switches, a keypad, and an lcd character display. I go through the the steps to make it. I start with thinking about it and getting a better idea of what I want to make. Then I take dimensions of the parts. Next I use the dimensions to create a 3D model and then export the model as a 2D dxf for CamBam. I use CamBam to create the tool paths and G-Code. I then cut that part and show it as a finished design. There are many techniques that I discuss in the video which are very valuable to learn if you haven't already seen them.

Description: CNC knee mill retrofit. See the advantages of a classic manual knee mill when it is properly converted to a 2 axis or 3 axis CNC milling machine. Elrod Machine shows how useful a CNC knee mill can be with his conversion hardware.
Description: The Schutte WU305 is a flexible and precise 5 axis Universal Grinder for making hips, knees, rasps, reamers, drills, turbine blades, and other ground parts where complex shapes must be ground and excellent surface finishes achieved. It is possible in one clamping to grind, mill, drill, belt grind, and polish. Complex parts once manufactured in multiple clampings and multiple machines can be made complete in one machine.
