SheetCAM Video Tutorial 1 | What is SheetCAM | Learn ...
Duration: 5:38
Description: What is SheetCAM? We go over what SheetCAM is in this CAM video tutorial. This first video is about the basics of SheetCAM if you have never been exposed to it. We look at SheetCAM topics like: What is SheetCAM? Where do you get SheetCAM? How much is SheetCAM? What is support like? What do you use SheetCAM for? As we talk about these different questions, SheetCAM has proved to me to be a great CAM Software Package. It really excels when machining "sheets" of material. Sheets like steel, plastic and thin wood. CAM stands for Computer Aided Manufacturing. SheetCAM is a CAM Software Package that connects your CAD Design to your CNC Machine.
FreeCAD tutorial 2 - Making a bike rim. Pt1 of 2
Duration: 16:33
Description: FreeCAD tutorial video 1 of 2 This tutorial is intended to go into more depth with FreeCAD's Sketcher Workbench and Part Design Workbench Revolve tool. A basic bicycle wheel rim cross-section is built and constrained fairly closely to real-life geometry. Then the revolve tool is used to create the 3D model of the rim. Options on the revolve tool are explored in some detail, and new concepts in the sketcher are introduced (such as symmetry and use of construction lines.) Target audience - Beginner/Intermediate Assumed prior knowledge - Basic understanding of FreeCAD and simple commands for manipulating objects and interacting with menus. Watching of the 'introduction to sketcher workbench' tutorial (www.youtube.com would be of some use also. As I mention in the video, FreeCAD is still under development so make sure you SAVE YOU WORK OFTEN, don't say I didn't warn you! FreeCAD tutorial 3 - Making a bike tyre. Pt1 of 2
Duration: 9:06
Description: Don't forget to subscribe to my channel for tutorial updates! FreeCAD tutorial video 1 of 2 This tutorial is intended covers a little of what I have already covered on FreeCAD's Sketcher Workbench and Part Design Workbench Revolve tool, and also introduces the concept of Python scripting. A basic bicycle tyre cross-section is built and constrained, then a second sketch is used for a tread pattern. The revolve tool is used to create the tyre and the pad tool is used to create a pad of the tread. A Python script is then used to make multiple radial copies of the pad around the outside of the tyre. Target audience - Beginner/Intermediate Assumed prior knowledge - Basic understanding of FreeCAD and simple commands for manipulating objects and interacting with menus. Watching of my previous tutorials also. As I mention in the video, FreeCAD is still under development so make sure you SAVE YOU WORK OFTEN, don't say I didn't warn you! FreeCAD tutorial - introduction to sketcher workbench
Duration: 13:01
Description: FreeCAD tutorial video ------------------------------- This is my first attempt at a tutorial video so please don't be too-harsh with your criticisms :) This tutorial is intended to be a brief introduction to FreeCAD's Sketcher Workbench, with particular focus on constraints. A basic outline of a bicycle frame is built and constrained as closely as possible to real-life geometry. Target audience - Beginner Assumed prior knowledge - Basic understanding of FreeCAD and simple commands for manipulating objects and interacting with menus. As I mention in the video, FreeCAD is still under development. Before I got to the stage where I was ready to make this tutorial I had a fair amount of random crashes where the program just completely shut-down. Description: SheetCAM Video Tutorial 3 | Define Machine In this video we define the machine we will be using after SheetCAM for our CNC work. All CAM Programs need to know the machine that will be doing the work. CAM Programs need to know parameters like: Zero Location Safe Working Window Machine Widths, Lengths, Heights After the program knows these things, it can base the G-Code program off of them. Think about it, if the program doesn't know where 0,0 is then it could start the program anywhere. What if you had a clamp there? The machine would crash.
