The Light Sensor is built from 3 main components. A piston is used to control killing grass during the night, and growing grass during the day. A redstone BUD Switch is used to detect grass growing and dying. A T-FlipFlop memory unit keeps track of the day and night cycle. If it rains during the day, the Light Sensor will still detect it as being day, despite the darker conditions.
