Outside of Photoshop's huge upgrade in the speed department (It's fast!), this tool is probably my favorite upgrade!

Photoshop Tutorial - Burn and Dodge Tools --------------------------------------------------------------------- The Burn and Dodge Tools are very useful and effective when integrating your subject into your movie poster. These tools are digital versions of using light and dark to create effects in photography development. In the darkroom, you usually accomplish these effects by exposing your photographic paper to certain levels of light to certain parts of the image for certain amounts of time. In Photoshop, the effect is the same, but you have much more control over it. Burning and Dodging is really good for adding dramatic flare. It's nice for accentuating muscle tones, adding shadows and brightening eyes. They are effects that are best used subtly. To begin, click Add a new layer at the bottom of the Layers panel and rename this new layer. Next, grab the Fill Tool and set your foreground color to 50 percent Gray. Fill in your canvas by clicking on it. This will turn your entire project gray. Once this happens, keep the new layer selected and choose Overlay in the composition options drop-down menu. Now, grab the Burn Tool and set it at 90 pixels to create very subtle burning effects. Make sure your Exposure is set to something relatively low, such as 30%. Note Tool --------------------------------------------------------------------- The Note tool simply adds small notes for reference as you are manipulating your image. These notes can be useful if you're taking notes from a client, for communicating with other team members who might all be working on the same image at different times or for yourself in the future. 1. To access the Notes, click and hold the Eyedropper tool in the tool bar, then click the Note tool second from the bottom. You can also do this with your keyboard by holding down Shift+I until the Note tool is selected.2. To make a note, simply click on any area of the screen. A little note widget will pop up that you can add text to. In order to add the text, you have to reference to the Notes Window on the right side of the screen. Click inside the field body and start typing.3. To change the colors of the notes, click on the color at the top Options panel. You can change it to pretty much any color you like, and you can also author the notes. This comes in handy if you are a client or boss who wants to give easy notes to an image. 4. To clear your image of notes, press the Clear All button at the top Options panel. This will delete the notes, not hide them.5.
